Freebies & Linky Parties

Wow!  This is sad, but I didn't even notice midnight last night until I got a text.  Between blogging and a Hallmark movie it came and went.  I get really excited about Thanksgiving, Christmas, and every other holiday, but New Year's Eve doesn't seem to be my holiday.
So, to get in the spirit of things, I have three things to post.

1.  New Year Freebie
Here's my newest creation.  I included Parts of Speech (ALL parts of speech we cover in first grade), ABC Order, and Addition/Subtraction Matching.  It's 27 pages worth of center freebies.  Here are pictures of what is included.  The only thing I'm asking is please give me feedback and check out the rest of my store :)  CLICK HERE to get my freebie.

2. What's ahead for You? 2013 Year-in-Preview Linky Party
I found this last night and thought it was great!  These are things I really haven't thought about, but once I looked at it, it made me think.  Anyway, it works like Farley's link parties.  You link up, then you make sure you comment on the two before you and the one after you.  The best part is these linky parties always help you discover new, cool ideas.  CLICK HERE to check out the linky party.

3. Shout Out Linky

I love this idea!  My friends over at Growing Firsties and Teaching to the Core created a once a month link up where you give a shout out to two blogging teachers that have inspired you.  One of the teachers should have more followers than you and one should have less followers than you.  Once you link up, you follow Farley's rules (I love that she set rules and all bloggers and link parties follow them now) and you check out the two bloggers ahead of you and the one after you and don't forget to comment :)  You also have to let the two people that you recognize know that you recognized them.   CLICK HERE to go visit the Shout Out Linky.

My first blogger is More than Math by Mo.  I found her this morning on TPT.  I decided to check her blog out and although she's just getting started I found an awesome freebie.  She also had several other freebies that I will be grabbing.  Definitely go check her out.  I promise you won't regret it.  CLICK HERE to go visit More than Math by Mo.

My other blogger is Amanda at One Extra Degree.  She doesn't probably realize it, but she helped me refocus my direction a few months ago.  I had posted a Disney object.  I had gotten the clip art from ETSY and created several packets using the clip art.  Around that time she met with a lawyer because her store was taking off and she wanted a better understanding of her creations and what she could do and what she shouldn't do.  Well, the lawyer told her that to stay away from everything Disney.  At some point, she saw my stuff and left me a message giving me a head's up.  She could have kept going or she could have made it a big deal, but she didn't.  She helped me out because honestly, I wasn't trying to break any rules.  So, Amanda inspired me without knowing it.  At that moment, I decided I didn't want to create anything based off of books or characters.  I wanted to be creative enough that my materials could stand alone regardless of those things.  So, Amanda - thank you!!!!  I love your stuff and appreciate you helping me out when I was still learning the ropes.  CLICK HERE to go visit One Extra Degree.

Alright, that's all for today!

  1. Aww, thanks Faith! I remember that like it was yesterday, but I didn't even think much about it. I just didn't want to see you get entangled in something down the road knowing how everything is with Dr. Seuss and whatnot! Hope you have a Happy New Year! Keep up the great work! :)

    1. I guess to me after reading all of the TPT boards, I realized how fortunate I was that you just gave me a head's up instead of saying something on there. When you first start, you are learning so many new things that have never crossed your mind. For me, it was almost 400 followers and a blog ago and it stuck :) Hope you also have a Happy New Year, too :)

  4. Thank you so much for linking up with me!

I'm planning to re-do my office/craft room. I want it to look like a page from a magazine, but I doubt that will happen. LOL!

Good luck in reaching all your goals. :)

  5. That is one amazing freebie you are offering!! I will be sure to pass your information to the lower elementary teachers in my building. It amazes me how many teachers there are still out there that don't utilize teacherspayteachers!! I tell them about it and they look at me like I am crazy.

Anyway, I like your professional goal! If you get them figured out, share your secrets with the rest of us. This is my first year teaching reading and writing, so I am very new to the Daily 5 and CAFE!
